Dreaming of Acadia and Maine

We're home from a not-long-enough trip to the Acadia - Mount Desert Island - Bar Harbor area of Maine. We had eight days in the mountains, flanked by the ocean, pine trees and coastal beauty. My side of the family gathered together for the first time in almost six years and we had a wonderful time hanging out with each other, hiking, kayaking, cooking and eating.

I have so many photos to cull through - I didn't bother to bring the laptop, so my DSLR photos were downloaded last night once we arrived home. I did take photos with my iPhone which I used to create the collage below - just a sampler of our adventures.

1. Mist, Pines and the Road, 2. Into the Abyss, 3. Hiking Long Pond #maine, 4. Get Cracking #maine #barharbor #lobster, 5. In the Mist, 6. The sun came out!, 7. On the Water #kayak, 8. A Most Wonderful End of The Day, 9. Starburst #fireworks, 10. Crazy Enough to get up Super Early with Me this morning! #cadillacmountain, 11. Pier , 12. Strength - the beauty of #acadia

More to come in the following days!

  6. Hi Shirley,
So glad to connect with your blog again...I kept my blog list as a favorite on my computer. When is crashed and had to be replaced, I lost all my favorite blogs...I learned the hard way. Your trip looks wonderful, your daughter is beautiful...time flies, doesn't it? And I looked at your blog posts tagged pond. We never kept ours flowing during the winter...maybe we should. Our fish loss was terrible. I actually miss them. The pond looks so dreary. We are going to drain it...let it dry out (if it ever stops raining) and hope that eliminates any disease. We will buy koi again, but no names this time. I couldn't stand the heartbreak.
