Before I awoke Saturday morning, I had definitive plans - get up, run 8 to 9 miles, drop off photos, pick up daughter from the stable, do laundry, etc, etc.
I awoke to this in the backyard:
Not a lot of snow, but enough divert my plans for the day.
With the snow, lack of street clearing, and slippery sidewalks, I decided not to run at all. I still ran a little on the treadmill and did a yoga class, but these activities did not wear me out like a long run would. With residual energy to burn, I took a long photo walk on campus, around The Japan House grounds.
Yes, it was cold, and I had the place all to myself, but stillness in the air was so calming and peaceful. At the end of my walk, I felt rejuvenated.
Sometimes a diversion ends up being what you really needed.
Shared with Simple Things Sunday and Mosaic Monday. Hope you have a wonderful Super Bowl Sunday Evening!

It certainly looks like your diversion was just what your soul was craving. The Japanese garden looks like a beautiful peaceful place to walk with your camera. I can feel the calmness from here. Have a wonderful week. I am linking up to you through Mosaic Monday.
ReplyDeleteI love to have something like this happen to mix up the day a bit. Life goes back to normal quickly enough.
ReplyDeleteSometimes a diversion leads to enjoyable activities. It would be nice to sit on that bench and drink in the surrounding scenery.
ReplyDeleteQuiet serenity indeed!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful photographs depicting winter snow!
Oooh it looks very very cold!

ReplyDeleteWe had a light dusting in the morning too! I love your photo and mosaic. Such a peaceful scene and colors. Thanks for sharing, have a happy week!
ReplyDeleteI love the way snow transforms the landscape. It hides, albeit temporarily, the darkness of winter. Beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteWow, absolutely stunning beauty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place! I love Japanese Gardens, but I don't think I've ever visited one when there was snow on the ground.
