Like many mom-photographers, I find myself on the outside - the person behind the camera, never in front of it. As a result of this project, I have almost 80 photos with me in them. That's probably more than the past 5 years combined. I've definitely had fun and plan to continue in the coming year.
Here are December's selfies:
Relaxing with a glass of red wine:
Doing something I do almost every day - blow drying my hair! (I really wanted to capture the "everyday")
Finally, after 10 years of living in Illini country, I have a decent shirt to wear to sporting events. Even if it is orange (which is a terrible color on Asians, but at least now, I'll blend in with the crowd).
Here is a sampling of my 2012 selfies on flickr. Thanks to Christy, aka Urban Muser, for leading up the challenge. I'm looking forward to more in 2013.

Shirley, you were a fabulous and consistent participant--thanks for joining me. I loved seeing your work every month, you should be so proud of it! Happy 2013 to you, and I hope to see you {in the picture} on flickr!
ReplyDeleteLOVE all of your selfies! The blow drying your hair one is FABULOUS! I kind of bombed out after April . . . Maybe now that I have my iPhone 5 I'll do a little better this year. It's MUCH easier to grab a quick selfie with the phone than the honking DSLR. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou sound so happy at having completed your year of self-portraits. I like the one of you blow-drying your hair, such a lovely ordinary gesture which we sometimes overlook when taking selfies! Well done for your journey!
ReplyDeleteI like seeing your selection of images-I see such growth. I too am not a fan of orange. I'm not Asian, but I don't think it does me much good either : ) But one must embrace the home town. Also looks like your knee is treating you pretty well after that surgery.
ReplyDeleteMy fave this time is the blowdrying shot. Very clever....and of course, a glass of red wine is never a bad thing.
