I'm normally not a fan of straight up espresso, but "when in Rome", I found myself enjoying that early morning jolt. [I normally drink decaf or at the most, 1/3 caf - so this was a good jolt]
And breakfast overseas - such a treat! Real dishes and silverware (not plastic ware you get at the Hampton Inn breakfast, as a comparison). Real coffee - a cappuccino or espresso. Cheese. Sliced meats. Crusty bread. Flaky croissants. Thick, creamy yogurt. Whole grain muesli. Oh, I could go on and on. Needless to say, since getting back to the States, breakfast hasn't been as enjoyable.....
Just a small sampling of the food we experienced on our trip:
I so miss Italy, this makes me miss it even more! And proscuitto is the best thing in life.
