311/365 - Hot Cross Buns
Brian's music class started a new unit today - playing the recorder. We opted to buy a green one for Brian (with all those germs flying around, the last thing we need to share is an instrument you blow into!).
I am amazed how excited he is with this simple instrument - he learned Hot Cross Buns in class, and is now working through the packet of songs distributed with the recorder. I've outlined how to read the notes on the staff, including the beat values. 
He's practicing in the kitchen while I prepare dinner - my only ground rule - no shrill notes (you all know what I'm taking about).
You're a good woman, Shirley, allowing it anywhere around you! We're onto child #3 and they've been banished to their rooms :) Keep it up Brian!!
