New Camera [XPost]
I posted this on my other blog, but since this blog is my photography blog, felt a similar post should be made here, too.
After at least a year of contemplating it, thinking about it, researching it, comparing it against other models, discussing it, reading about it, tracking the pricing [at its lowest in Dec 08] and basically putting off the purchase of it, I finally hit the BUY button at B&H last Thursday. "It" would be the Nikon D300. An upgrade from my trusty, albeit outdated Nikon D70 that I purchased in April 2004.
See - the D70 still takes great pictures.
But can it take a clean picture at ISO 2000? [The D70 only goes up to ISO 1600]
I love what I see so far. I just need to figure out the best way to deal with the RAW files. For now, I'm shooting in JPG, but I like the White Balance options/fixes that are more readily available with RAW.
